Aircraft Type -
................................ Insert the appropriate aircraft designator type as specified in ICAO Document 8643 "Aircraft Type Designators" of the F.A.A. "Contraction Manual" (available at any F.A.A. AFSS / IAFSS or other Air Traffic Facility). If no such designator exists, insert "ZZZZ" and specify in item 18 (Other Information).
Wake Turbulence Category-
..................................After an oblique stroke (/) in the flight plan message, insert one of the following characters:
H = HEAVY, for an aircraft type with a maximum certificated take-off weight of 300,000 lbs (136,000 kg) or more.
M = MEDIUM, for an aircraft type with a maximum certificated take-off weight of less than 300,000 lbs (136,000 kg) but more than 15,500 lbs (7,000 kg).
L = LIGHT, for an aircraft type with a maximum certificated take-off weight of 15,500 lbs (7,000 kg) or less.
